The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitals Care Trust provide a wide range of hospital and community-based care to a population of 550,000 based in the Dorset, New Forest and south Wiltshire areas. Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust  is an acute general hospital based on the south coast of England. The trust has an income of around £240 million each year, and employs around 3,600 staff. The hospital has a 24-hour major accident and emergency department and is the designated trauma unit for east Dorset, serving a population of around 500,000 people. In addition, the hospital’s flagship Dorset Cancer Centre provides medical and clinical oncology services for the whole of Dorset, serving a total population of over 750,000. We are proud of the good reputation Poole Hospital enjoys within the local community, both as a provider of first-class health care services and as a major employer. Both St Mary’s Maternity Hospital and Forest Holme, the palliative care unit, are located a short walk from the main hospital. We consistently feature within the top twenty per cent in both national patient and staff satisfaction surveys.
