Strategic support, training and acts as a resource base for the Somerset and Dorset Health Communities (Extended role since April 2005 at the request of Sir Ian Carruthers, Chief Executive, NHS South West); |

Organises free major medical meetings e.g. The 4th Somerset Osteoporosis Annual Medical Conference; |

Advances the education of the public, via free Bone Health Fairs; |
| 4 |
Supports people with osteoporosis via a network of Osteoporosis Peer Support Groups (Bournemouth,Poole, Parkstone, Verwood, West Dorset). |
